Pre-Training Programme Thoughts (3) Today is the day I head home, but light snow and idiotic drivers (over turned car outside my house) have delayed my departure. It is embarrassing how such little snow brings this country to a standstill.
Not only that I have discovered that UPS are delivering the final part of my training uniform to this address, and not my non term time address. Which means no-one will be here to sign for it on Monday when they attempt to deliver it. So... I will have to wait until Monday, wait for the delivery to fail, and (from my non term address) track my order on the internet and have the re-deliver address changed. Not the fault of UPS, with whom I have never had a bad experience. Not the fault of the supplier either (Adidas)as they they got mixed up. What does all this mean? It means I have to start my training programme without my performance shirt and shorts. Which is not going to be good on the Ergo (Rowing Machine). Odd one out? I think so! Oh well, we should only fret about things we can control. As for the weather which is forecast for the start of my training- it doesn't look pleasant. Not that a Briton isn't used to miserable weather, but we certainly don't like it. I should be home later this evening, and to a house which has heating and without a vicious draft! Going to contact my local Rowing club to see if I can squirm in some practices with them (on top of my training programme)until my return here in February, as I am sure my technique will drop. Fingers crossed. |
