Sports Cardiology UK
Sports Cardiology UK provides expert cardiac assessment and cardiac screening for athletes of all ages. In most circumstances, regular exercise is really good for cardiovascular health. However, there are a small number of people who have heart conditions that can be potentially dangerous if they participate in strenuous exercise training. In some, these may not be obvious until symptoms appear- sometimes after many years of competitive athletics. The European Society of Cardiology recommend that all competitive ahtletes undergo a regular cardiac assessment but most doctors have a poor understanding of athletes and the normal changes which occur in the heart with regular exercise. Sports Cardiology UK is based in Bristol - have a look at our website for further details.
